 History

Reverend Alpheus L. Bright our Pastor Emeritus organized the Young Matrons Usher Ministry in September 1971.  The ministry has continued to flourish in the name of our Lord with two of the original members Deaconess Loretta LeVere and Edna Williams still serving with us.

Through the years the Young Matron Usher Ministry has been blessed with strong leadership in the persons of Ruby Harmon, Loretta LeVere, Shirley Bedford, Annie Jones, Glory Solomon, Marilyn McCoy, and our current President Inez Sellers.

The ministry usher on the second Sunday of each month in the morning worship service.  We serve at funerals here at the church, and when asked, we will accompany Pastor Barnes when he is invited to another church to preach. We welcome and look forward to new membership, “For to grow means progress.”
